Rory McCann: Wild Woods
10:00 26.02.2013 - 16:00 05.04.2013This exhibition consists of a range of artworks, but primarily British wild animals painted onto aesthetic cross-sections of wood. The highly detailed paintings incorporate the natural look of the wood into their design.
Rory has been working as a wildlife artist for over 10 years and has worked as an artist all around the world, from the Seychelles to Oman. He now primarily works in schools in the UK, running art workshops and painting huge murals of wild scenes. Rory gained his inspiration for painting on wood from a recent trip to Madagascar, where he ran a community art initiative that involved painting Madagascan wildlife on wood carvings.
Many of the pieces in this exhibition are for sale and prices range from £50 to £250, offering an affordable opportunity to purchase unique original wildlife art.
