Enjoy A Free Audience with the Daleks

The Shropshire Model Show will be returning to the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford on Sunday 5th April 2009 with the Daleks, the arch enemies of Dr.Who, expected to invade.

More than 70 clubs will be exhibiting intricately detailed models including aircraft, cars, bikes, trucks, Dr. Who figures and other science fiction related items. The ever popular “An Audience with the Daleks” is back by public demand. This special interactive feature of the show will run 2-3 times throughout the day (time permitting) enabling visitors to meet with and interrogate the Daleks about their latest plans for galactic subjugation.

In addition to this the show will boast over 40 traders in all of the Museum’s hangars selling a range of materials and kits associated with the world of modelling including glues, paints and detail sets. A tombola will run all day offering a range of excellent prizes and the show will also be hosting an open competition where modellers of all ages and abilities can enter their creations to win a much coveted award.

Organiser Gary Stevens of Ellesmere says: “With over 40 traders and over 70 club displays, I estimate there will be just short of 500 stall members at the show; some travelling from as far away as Plymouth, to sell and display their models. This show provides these dedicated model enthusiasts the opportunity to display and show off the skills involved in making elaborate models, ranging from aircraft to boats and trains and to swap those all important tips and hints with other enthusiasts and members of the public visiting the show. The depth of skill and dedication on display is truly breathtaking. All-in-all it adds up to a great family day out, and best of all it is all totally free to visit.”

Visitors will also be able to view the Museum’s three hangars and the National Cold War Exhibition during their visit. There is ample free car parking available and a restaurant and souvenir shop on site.
