Heart Of England Tourist Attractions Are Set To Battle It Out At The 2010 Tourism Awards

Five regional attractions are shortlisted for The Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2010

Five of the best tourism businesses in the Heart of England, West Midlands region, have been unveiled today as finalists in the 2010 Enjoy England Awards for Excellence, sponsored by The Caravan Club.

Hidelow House Cottages in Worcestershire, Poston Mill Caravan Park in Herefordshire, Blists Hill Victorian Town in Shropshire and the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham, will go head- to-head with attractions and destinations from across the UK in a bid to win their category. An employee at Cadbury World, Debbie Bisseker, has also been shortlisted for a Customer Services Award.

Head of Visitor Marketing, Sam Warnock, comments: "It's a testament to the fantastic tourism offering in the Heart of England that we have been shortlisted in five categories - which is three more than last year! The awards really showcase the wealth of high quality and affordable holiday experiences on offer in the region."
This year an extra award has been launched to celebrate those events or experiences that are truly unique to England: the "Where Else but England" award (twitter@wherebutengland). The Asparagus Festival in Evesham and Festival at the Edge in Shropshire have made it through to the shortlist and the overall winner will be voted for by the public.
All 46 national finalists announced today were selected from over 100 regional winners submitted by regional tourist boards and were rigorously assessed by independent assessors and a team of judges to make it through to the national final. All the winners will be unveiled at a glittering awards ceremony held in the Corn Exchange at The Brighton Dome on 23 April in celebration of St George's Day.
