Motorcycle Eggstravaganza – Get your Easter off to a cracking start

Thousands of motorbike enthusiasts from across the Midlands & Wales will be joining together for a massive ‘Ride Out’ in support of our servicemen and women.

The very first ‘Wings Ride Out’, organised by the RAF Association (RAFA), will take place on Sunday 5th April 2009.

Starting from a variety of venues in Leicester, Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Wales, thousands of motorcyclists will converge on Shrewsbury Town Football Club before riding, with their Easter Eggs or Easter Bunnies to RAF Cosford, showing support for our Armed Forces.

The eggs and gifts will then be distributed to families of serving personnel, many of whom will have seen active service in Afghanistan and Iraq, or may be currently serving away from home.

It is hoped that around 3,000 people will be taking part and all the funds raised from the event will go to RAFA - a charity which provides support and welfare for members of the RAF (past and present) and their dependants.

Once the motorcyclists have arrived at RAF Cosford, personnel from the station will be on hand to provide hot drinks. Those taking part will then have free access to the RAF Museum Cosford and the opportunity to wander around the Shropshire Scale Modellers Show.

So if you want to be an Easter Bunny for the day then all you have to do to join in with the fun is simply provide a donation of £5.00 per person and an Easter egg (to be donated to RAF personnel and their families.)

RAFA Midlands Area Fundraiser, Martin Ellis, said: “If you want to make a difference and have a great time while doing so – then join in this fantastic event with hundreds of other motorcyclists from across the region. It promises to be an event with a difference!”
