Cycling enthusiasts of all abilities find the Ironbridge Gorge a fascinating area to explore. Cycling in the Gorge itself is mostly alongside the River Severn. NCR45, the Mercian Way, which runs alongside the southern bank. This was created along the route of a railway line and is flat and mainly off road.

Cycling in Ironbridge

Cycling out of the Gorge allows visitors to experience some breathtaking scenery of Telford & Shropshire, from the views of the Wrekin on cycle route 45 to the breathtaking architecture of The Cold War Museum Building at RAF Cosford on cycle route 81.

Cycle equipment, repair and hire needs in the area are capably met at the Bicycle Hub in the Fusion Building in Jackfield
