Group Itineraries

Ironbridge & Telford has lots to offer both coach parties and groups arriving by other means. To give you some ideas we have compiled some suggested itineraries for you to choose from.

Alternatively you can design your own tour and discover the area for yourself. For attractions, restaurants and accommodation that accepts groups visit www.shropshireforgroups.co.uk. It is advisable to contact the establishments individually to book your visit.

A day's visit to Ironbridge allows you to take in 4 of the 10 Museum sites in the beautiful Ironbridge Gorge, one of Britain's great World Heritage Sites and the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. As the sites are spread over six square miles, transport will be required to take you between sites.

Group Itinerary 1

10.00 Arrive at Blists Hill Victorian Town
The Museum is a recreation of life in a Victorian community. Working factories, shops and cottages are authentic to the era, as are the 'townsfolk'. Change your money at the Bank for Victorian tokens to spend in the shops, or take a pint of ale in the New Inn Public House. The sights, smells and sounds of late Victorian working machinery are on show as the last remaining wrought ironworks in the country run regularly throughout the summer.

14.00 Visit Coalport China Museum
The former Coalport Factory offers demonstrations in a range of techniques including making bone china roses. The National Collections of Coalport and Caughley china are displayed in the original riverside buildings. Hands on workshops are held regularly.
